Fast Bowling Implicit Accuracy System

For the past 5 years Steffan Jones has been working behind the scenes with V-Flex to develop an accuracy system for fast bowlers. Ecological Dynamics

In ecological dynamic terms, V-Flex manipulates the affordance landscape ~ it changes what the perceptual system is invited to detect, without prescribing movement. Fast bowlers will be the first to benefit from the PaceLAB Fast Bowling Implicit Accuracy System (FBIAS) thanks to Coach Jones.

In this video, bowlers are training with the systems’ Clarifier, Verifier and Focus Mat. The Clarifier is the larger net that sits closest to the bowler, and the Verifier sits in the area where the wickets generally sit. The Focus Mat and catch net sit the greatest distance away from the bowler.

The Clarifier provides general spatial information, excites peripheral spatial neurons and gives the bowlers brain a clutter free space to bowl through. It could have easily been named the magnifier because of its ability to alter the perception of space substantially causing objects to appear closer than they actually are but because of its neurological attraction features Clarifier was chosen.

The Verifier gives more specific spatial information to the bowler’s brain for more precise targeting. The most in a precognitive format related to the final target space. The Focus Mat and catch net are there so bowlers can practice independently. In the photo below you will see the Clarifier (without its primary implicit prompting mechanism) paired with the Focus Mat and catch net. This simple setup makes the wickets stand out clearly for the trainee.
